History of the Chateau

The story of the Chateau, with its medieval architecture, battlements, and appearance of a small castle, begins to reemerge in the period before World War I, when the spa town was developing and the landscape was acquiring its characteristic poetic charm. In 1916, a building with a lookout tower was completed here – the structure was known as the "Lookout Tower of Gratitude" or "Watchtower." It was a popular place for walks, short trips, and moments when people sought peace and a romantic view of the town.

Over time, however, the castle gave way to overgrown greenery and the changing needs of the times. The lookout tower lost its view and the original building slowly began to disappear from collective memory. It was not until the beginning of the 21st century that the way was opened for its rescue. Between 2010 and 2012, the entire building underwent extensive renovation, which restored its nobility and created space for today's Zámeček Residence – an intimate historical residence in the spirit of a boutique hotel, where modern comfort naturally blends with the charm of period architecture.

The oldest rooms, Saint Lucia and Elizabeth of Bavaria, still retain the atmosphere of their original use more than a century ago. These rooms are silent witnesses to stories that took place here long before the current form of the chateau came into being.
